MERS, Ebola and Zika, Oh My!
Over the past couple of years the US has been affected by a variety of emerging infections. These infections which included SARS, bird and swine flus, West Nile, MERS, Ebola, and now Zika have typically resulted in costly interventions, high visibility or even panic due to the novelty and perceived transmissibility, and travel restrictions or modifications. The talk will discuss impact of and pertinent issues surrounding the introduction of new pathogens on public and everyday life.
